I really like using apple sauce in baking - either that, or bananas. I wish I had a good low fat/low calorie brownie recipe, but I don't think that I do.

You can replace half of the oil or margarine with applesauce,or even 2/3 .But go first with the half because if you replace more you might lose texture. You can also replace sugar with agave syrup, which is a truly healthy sweetener. But because its liquid you have to reduce some of the other liquids you use.You now how that works!i use agave syrup in baking all the time and you dont even notice its not sugar! oh and make sure to mix applesauce with margarine or oil well and then mix with other ingredients!Check out my blog if you want!

Hi again!
Just wanted to pass on this information ...

Boston Magazine recently published an article all about us this month - here is the link:

Oh So Soy!

If you have a few minutes to spare, could do us a huge favor and read the article and comment at the bottom of the page? We're very excited about getting such great press, especially from a magazine of this caliber. If everyone drops by and leaves a quick comment, soon there will be no doubt in any publisher's mind: YES, readers absolutely do want to know about vegan happenings and developments. Please don't hesitate to repost the article on your blog and spread the world!

Thanks!

I made great brownies as well the other day, and will post it soon on my blog. What you want is to make your brownies healthy and delicious at the same time. So I use walnuts and organic pure black chocolate. All this is supposed to be very healthy. For oil I use rapeseed oil(or do you call that canola oil in the States??). A wonderful oil to use with chocolate and it has it's health benefits. For sugar, there is maple syrup and dark sugars like sucanat which are healthier than normal sugars and also taste well with chocolate. So I hope this has been of use to you. My food blog is in English- I come from Holland by the way. I would like to give you the address of my blog-

Best wishes,
Monique.
